Aisling Mulcahy is the Clinical Nurse Specialist for Menopause in the Ambulatory Gynae Unit at Nenagh Hospital, Ireland.

Prior to her current role, she spent 13 years in a variety of cancer care settings, including as a nurse manager in oncology clinical trials and a clinical nurse specialist in cancer services. Aisling is a British Menopause Society-accredited specialist, holds a higher diploma in oncology nursing, a master’s in advanced nursing practice, and is a registered nurse prescriber.

National Innovations Lymphoedema Specialist

Cheryl trained as a physiotherapist and has worked in Lymphoedema since 2004. She is a qualified MLD teacher and completed her Doctorate in 2021. She initially started working primarily with people diagnosed with Breast Cancer seeing them before surgery and then aiding them through rehabilitation post-op with a view of reducing their risk of lymphoedema. Her current remit is to assess patient’s suitability for lymphoedema surgery by providing comprehensive lymphoedema assessment and ICG fluoroscopy scanning. Furthermore, she provides specialist support within all Lymphoedema Services across Wales for people with complex lymphoedema presentations or those with poor response to standard treatment.

Dr Maura Dowling is an Associate Professor in Nursing and programme lead for postgraduate cancer nursing education at the University of Galway, Ireland. With a clinical background in cancer nursing, Maura has extensive experience in developing online educational programmes for nurses working in cancer care, leading cancer nursing research, and supporting cancer nursing colleagues in undertaking and publishing research. She has published widely with over 150 peer-reviewed journal publications.

Nic Beech is Managing Director for Thames Valley Cancer Alliance, previously working as Transformation Lead at NHS England National Cancer Programme and Director for Performance and Improvement at Surrey and Sussex Cancer Alliance. Nic is an oncology nurse with experience in nursing practice, education and research, gained in acute and community NHS, voluntary and higher education. Nic’s roles have supported health care systems to review cancer services with an emphasis on workforce, cancer pathways and governance processes. She has published and represented nursing at the Royal College of Nursing Breast and Cancer Care Forum Steering Committee, Cancer Research UK Clinical Advisory Group and the Multidisciplinary Cancer Stakeholder Group.

Jackie is a highly experienced Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist with over 23 years’ expertise supporting people affected by breast cancer. At Future Dreams, she uses her extensive clinical background to shape and deliver programs and services, including one-to-one appointments, workshops, community meet-ups, and Breast Health Masterclasses. Prior to joining Future Dreams, Jackie worked across both the NHS and private healthcare sectors, developing strong clinical and leadership skills. Over the past 15 years, she held senior roles within two major NHS Foundation Trusts, most recently as Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist, where she led a team of breast care nurses and managed the day-to-day operations of a busy breast unit.

Suzy is a Consultant BCN with extensive experience in nurse led breast symptom assessment, family history assessment, and support throughout the breast cancer patient pathway. She has published on breast referral triage, breast pain and breast screening surveillance and teaches at MSc level with St George’s University. Suzy is a NICE Fellow (2020-2022), Nurse Co-Lead for the ABS Aspire Steering Group and Nurse representative for the ABS MDT Toolkit Working Group. She is a passionate patient advocate with a strong interest in compassionate healthcare practice, human factors, reducing unwarranted variation, co-production and translating policy into practice to improve patient outcomes.
